Thanks for stopping by. I’ll get a more complete bio up eventually, but here’s a quick rundown:
I am a competitive distance runner (and just a competitive person in general maybe?) who’s originally from Kenya but is now proud to Rome, Georgia home. When I came to the US, I wasn’t really much of a runner to speak of, but thanks to some patient and knowledgeable coaches, and a little God-given talent, I got better and have been able to accomplish more than I ever dreamed possible.
I ran collegiately for Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas; and while there I earned 8 Division II All-American awards and in 2005 won 3 National Championships. After graduating I got married and moved to Georgia where I began running some local races for fun and just getting faster and making new friends.
Well, fast forward to 2011. In August 2011 I was declared eligible to run for my new country, and in 5 weeks I won 3 national titles (10k, 10 Mile & 20k) to claim the overall championship in the USA Running Circuit.
In January of 2012 I competed in the US Olympic Trials Marathon, and with the help of my coach, the legendary Jack Daniels, I PR’d by nearly 8 minutes to finish 5th in 2:29!
In the coming year I look forward to getting back on the roads, hitting the track for the first time in nearly 7 years, and just continuing to have fun with my favorite hobby.
